Q:
My son has 1 leg 1 1/2 inches shorter and needs to have a platform added is this shoe capable of this?
My son needs a tennis shoe that has super support, shock support due to his injury and the fact that he has to walk up to 10 miles a day in the store and his hip, leg and back are in extreme pain for the shock caused from the floor? What shoe do you recommend?Asked on 9/9/2012 by Shane from Charleston SC1 answer
A:
We would recommend trying one of the shoes in the New Balance 812 series (http://www.holabirdsports.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=720&q=new+balance+812). Many shoes feature specialized cushioning systems like gel or air capsules in the midsole (the foam part between the upper and the outsole), making it very difficult for a podiatrist to build up the midsole of these shoes. The New Balance 812 series has a more solid midsole so there is no gel, air, or other specialized cushioning technologies for a podiatrist to contend with. Furthermore, the 812 series has a polyurethane midsole, making it easier for a podiatrist to cut it out and pour in liquid polyurethane to build up the height of the shoe.Answered on 9/10/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
