Q:
What is the length of the chest monitor and strap? About how long is the battery expected to last? Is the battery available at places like Radio Shack or Batteries Plus and can they replace the battery, or must it be returned to Timex?
I now have a Polar unit, model 4X, and it is giving me erroneous readings, so am planning to replace it. Consumer's Reports says this Timex unit is highly rated for accuracy, so I will probably order this unit.Asked on 3/4/2012 by Anonymous1 answer
A:
Fully extended, the chest strap will fit up to a 52” chest. There isn’t a set life-span available for the chest strap battery, but the batteries are easily be self-replaced via a hatch on the back and should be available at any electronics store. If you need to change the watch battery, Timex recommends returning it to them in order to get good waterproof seal. Alternatively, you can take your watch to a good jeweler, but Timex will not be able to guarantee their work.Answered on 3/8/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
Q:
can the user change the battery or does it have to be taken to timexAsked on 2/24/2012 by Anonymous3 answers
A:
After speaking with Timex, we have determined that Timex does not recommend that you self replace the battery in this watch. You should return it to them for replacement. For a quicker turn-around you could also take it to a good jeweler but Timex is unable guarantee their work.Answered on 3/1/2012 by Peggy from Holabird SportsA:
