Micro Cellular Technology: Neither pressurized nor permanent pressure™, Tretorn's micro cellular technology is patented worldwide and recognized by the ITF as the pioneer of a new category of tennis ball. The result is a highly playable tennis ball that does not lose performance over time.

A conventional pressurized ball flattens on the stringbed as it is hit and resistance is provided by the compressed air within the ball. A small amount of air escapes each time the ball is struck, reducing air pressure and performance. With this new category of ball, 700 million air-filled micro cells take the place of compressed air. These cells cannot escape through the ball's rubber core, resulting in a ball that never loses its bounce.

The rubber core, made of titanium and polybutadiene, has a softer feel than permanent pressure balls, enhancing spin. Surfaced with Tretorn's exclusive Flex-Felt™, which is specially designed from wool and polyester fibers, the Micro X offers unsurpassed feel, playability ad wear-resistance.

Comments about Tretorn Micro-X 4 Cans:

I bought these for my ball machine but I have used them to play matches as well and I love them. Living at high altitude, ball pressure is an issue as is temperature. These feel great at 50 degrees or 75 degrees and maintain a consistent feel after 4-5 hours of competitive play. They feel harder in your hand but hit clean and crisp with great spin and control. Worth the extra money.

Comments about Tretorn Micro-X 4 Cans:

These are surprisingly good balls. I bought these to check them out before buying a larger quantity for our ball machine and found them to be great for practice sessions also. They hit a bit heavier than regular pressurized but barely noticable.

Comments about Tretorn Micro-X 4 Cans:

For about 20 years, I've switched among three popular brands of pressureless balls for my hopper and always have found the the quality to be highly variable, having to throw away some balls unused. I stayed away from Tretorn because I could not justify the expense for so many balls, but finally decided to give them a try because the last batch I bought was uniformly bad (dead). I purchased 32 cans of Tretorn Micro-X, and every ball provides a consistent bounce. They are, of course, noticeably heavier than pressurized balls and are only useful as practice balls that will hold their bounce for a long period of time. In spite of the weight, they do not seem to affect groundstrokes much (although they feel "harder"), which may improve as they wear (I've only used them for a few weeks). The serve is most annoying; you do not get a good feel for spin while hitting. Instead, it feels like the racket is glancing off the side of a rock.

Comments about Tretorn Micro-X 4 Cans:

We got tired of playing with dead balls and buying new ones. These are a good fit for occasional recreational players. They feel pretty close the real thing, and they stay consistent for a much longer time.

          • About Tretorn
For over 100 years, one of the biggest names in the tennis industry has been Tretorn. Since the founding of the company in 1891 in Helsingborg, Sweden, Tretorn has been dedicated to quality products at the best prices. Originally producing quality rubber boots, the founder of Tretorn, Henry Dunker, realized the growing popularity of tennis and decided to switch his focus to the production of tennis balls. The rest, they say, is history. Tretorn was the first company to produce pressurized tennis balls as early as 1930, followed by pressureless tennis balls in 1950. Today, Tretorn is one of the leading manufacturers of tennis equipment in the world. Make sure to check out Tretorn's products here at Holabird Sports for quality, professional tennis equipment.
