Under Armour SpeedForm Apollo running shoes were developed to wrap your feet in seamless and fitted comfort. The low-profile construction offers a stable feel and greater ground contact as you run. Ultrasonic seams were inspired by space innovation, paired with the ingenious materials of bra manufacturing to offer the smoothest, anatomical fit possible.
Upper: Ultrasonic seams provide a smooth, sock-like fit with no ridges or stitches. Forefoot and midfoot perforations enhance flexibility and ventilation. Mesh tongue provides breathability. A lace-up front offers an adjustable fit.
Midsole: Silicone heel grip provides a secure fit. Micro G® in the heel and forefoot allows you to feel the road while still providing cushion, grip, and speed. Full-length 4D foam embedded sockliner enhances comfort.
Outsole: Solid rubber in high wear areas offer extra durability and traction. Flex grooves offer a more natural range of motion.
Runner's World Best Debut
"Under Armour has long had success with fabrics—no surprise there, given its achievements in team-sports apparel—but has had challenges translating that to performance-running footwear. So it went back to its roots for the Speedform Apollo, with an upper touted as being built in a bra factory. The molded upper is largely free of seams, and the few that do exist are secured without stitches. It's such a smooth, clean finish that you can comfortably ditch your socks. Plus, a thin strip of silicone lines the inside of the collar for a comfortable grip on bare ankles. The shoe puts your foot fairly close to the ground, but heel cushioning is much softer than we'd expected."
