    • Q:

I see the power is high and the head is light. I thought for the racquet to have high power the head needed to be heavy,

Also what is the string tension

      Thank you

        A:

There are numerous factors that contribute to a racquet's "power," including the frame's stiffness, length, weight, balance, and even the headsize. If all other factors are equal--including the speed at which you swing the racquet--a head heavy racquet will offer more power than its head light twin. That being said, there are still plenty of very powerful racquets on the market that are head light. My recommendation for most players is to use a racquet's specifications (weight, balance, etc.) to narrow down the field of potential racquet candidates. Once you’ve narrowed it down to a few, the best course of action is to demo each of the remaining racquets and evaluate the feel and performance of the frame to see if it fits your style and personal preferences. The manufacturer's recommended tension range for this racquet is 55-65 pounds.

This racket is a little bit heavier than N Code 5 (10.6 oz vs. 9.7 oz)

        A:

The Six.Two isn't particularly similar to the nCode n5, but it is a good racquet in its own right. If you are looking for something as close as possible to the n5, you should take a look at Wilson's latest version of the racquet, the Wilson Five BLX (http://www.holabirdsports.com/wilson-five-blx-103.html). The Five BLX's specs are very close to those of the n5, but the technology has evolved somewhat so the "feel" of the racquet may not be identical. I would encourage you to take advantage of our demo program (http://www.holabirdsports.com/demo-racquet-program) to try out some racquets and make sure they feel good for you.

I am using hyper hammer 110 oversize. This is serving me very well.Since I do not get this any more in the market can I switch over to this comfortably? Would you like to suggest any alternatives?.

        A:

It really depends upon which Hyper Hammer 110 you are using. Hyper Hammer actually refers to a whole series of racquets and there were a few with 110 square inch heads. Although the Wilson Six.Two BLX 110 does have the same head size that you are used to, it will be balanced differently than a Hyper Hammer (head light instead of head heavy).

How does this racket compare to Wilson N code 3

      • Staff Reviewer

        A:

Although there are a few similarities, those two racquets are actually quite different. The Wilson n3 weighs in almost a full ounce lighter than the Six.Two BLX 110. The n3 also has a slightly larger headsize and provides more power than the Six.Two BLX 110.
