Midsole:Forefoot and rearfoot GEL cushioning systems are strategically placed to absorb shock during the impact phase. SpEVA® midsole material improves bounce back characteristics and decreases midsole breakdown. Trusstic System™, a molded component, reduces the weight of the sole unit while retaining the structural integrity of the shoe. It also links the rearfoot and forefoot and shores the midfoot. The DuoMax® Support System is an proprietary ASICS® system consisting of two or more different density midsole materials, designed to help correct the degree and velocity of pronation. I bought these shoes for a 5K run. I will wear them for running, working out, and running errands. I have always worn Asics as I find them to be the perfect shoe for me. I felt that the shoe was just a little bit shorter in length than my other Asics but they are still comfortable.

This was my first time ordering from Holabird sports and I can honestly say it was a great experience. The shoes arrived quickly. I called customer service as I had a few questions about their policies and they couldn't have been more pleasant or knowledgeable. I would definitely make future purchases from Holabird. I only wish there were one in my area.

this is the only style that my feet work well in to,hope they don't stop making them.I can't wear other asic shoes with a seam in front of the tongue,I like the openess of the shoe.I walk 6 miles a wk so find this shoe well woth the $$,do need to replace 2x's a year but i put the miles on them

Both the GEL-1170 and the GT-2170 are support shoes designed to help control moderate overpronation. Both should offer comparable levels of support, but the GT-2170 does offer more cushioning than the GEL-1170.Answered on 12/13/2012 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
