Lauded as Brooks’ most popular running shoe, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 12 received Women’s Running Magazine’s award for the Best Stability Shoe. These shoes are ready for every mile—all while looking great in black, anthracite, and pavement.
The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 12 has the stability and support, fit and feel that you’ve come to expect with added upgrades to make your run that much better. This shoe is all about taking what’s great and making it better.
Upper: Moisture managing element mesh with synthetic overlay materials for a lightweight, breathable feel. Moisture managing element linings for increased ventilation. Internal Support Saddle for increased support. Adjustable saddle construction for a customized fit and feel to every foot.
Midsole: Anatomical Brooks® DNA uses a groundbreaking cushioning material that provides a customized ride for runners of all sizes and speeds. Working with BioMoGo, Brooks® DNA responds to your every step, dispersing impact and providing ideal comfort and protection as the pace and surface change. Full length BioMoGo lining takes long lasting cushioning and makes it eco-friendly. A non-toxic, natural additive in the BioMoGo compound encourages anaerobic microbes to munch away 50 times faster once it hits an active, enclosed landfill. Progressive Diagonal Rollbar (PDRB®) is biomechanically engineered to allow for progressive pronation control and to create smoother transitions from the midstance phase into the propulsion phase. Diagonal Rollbar (DRB®) Accel is a shank-like thermoplastic device that provides torsional rigidity to the midfoot, enhancing support while allowing the heel and forefoot to act independently. Heel Caterpillar Crash Pad is a segmented crash pad that customizes the individual’s lay down with just the right amount of cushion and stabilization, giving you a smooth heel to toe transition. Flextra rubber pieces vary in degrees of support to correspond with gender and weight categories, providing tuned flexibility. Removable profile sockliner.
Outsole: HPR Plus provides a higher durability, abrasion resistant rubber outsole compound that wears longer. Forefoot stable pod construction allows midsole and outsole components to set the foot in an efficient, balanced position from heel strike to toe off, offering exceptional flexibility and unrestricted forefoot ride. Blown rubber forefoot for increased durability.
Spring 2012
"After 12 releases, it’s still easy to see why Brooks calls the Adrenaline GTS the brand’s ‘most popular shoe.’ The new version swaps out heavier fabric for breathable mesh and adds more spring to the rear foot with a heel crash pad. Our testers agreed that these trainers were a good fit for ‘heavy sweaters’ and ‘heel strikers.’ While they may not be the flyest looking footwear in your closet, they are sure to stand the test of time. As one runner said, ‘I have been a Brooks runner for quite some time, and they always hold up well for endurance training.’"

Comments about Brooks Adrenaline GTS 12 Lady Black/Anthracite/Pavement:
Haven't worn Brooks for a while because I went to a more neutral shoe in recent years (Saucony), but I have nothing but positives to say for this shoe. I wore Brooks back in high school, and these definitely have the solid Brooks feel I expect, but they don't seem to have a cumbersome straight-jacket feel that sometimes comes with motion control shoes. I chose these mainly because I wanted an all-black shoe with a tough build and aggressive tread for winter, in a brand I know and trust. I've only had a few runs in them, but I already know they were the perfect choice. I do a lot of my runs on an old-school cinder track, really sloppy winter and spring running, and these shoes still look good and deliver great traction. Last night the track also featured crunchy snow and slick frozen snow and I was really surprised how secure I felt. I thought I'd be sorry I didn't do the old sheet-metal screws in the soles trick when I saw the conditions, but the shoes' tread really surprised me how well it handled the hard ice. I have quite a few new pairs of running shoes, as I've been getting back into running and enjoying checking out all the new stuff, but these will definitely be my go-to shoes in crummy weather or rough trails. I may buy a second pair just in case they get hard to find in black or replaced by another model in the future. (They look great with jeans, too.) One final addition, they were great immediately out of the box. No weird rubs or unexpected seams, like sometimes with a new shoe.
