Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was prompt and free, but I was VERY disappointed that Holabird did not have any mechanism in place for easy returns. I had to call, speak with someone and then package the shoes, take them to the Post Office, etc. Every other retailer I deal with offers at least return vouchers. I don't expect it to be free, but to provide no easy way to return items ensures I will never shop here again. Mistakes happen, I ordered the wrong size for a gift and it cost more time and trouble than it should have to get the right shoe. Needless to say, I did not re-order the replacement shoes from Holabird.

This 587 model of running shoe was recommended by a Pediatrician and Pedorthist for stability and pronation control and to be used with orthotics. My arches had fallen, and I have torn ligaments. Wearing this shoe relieves the pain on my ankle and the discomfort of walking. I just wish this shoe came in darker colors for women (such as Navy blue)as they do for men (instead of just white) as I wear them for every casual activity.

The New Balance 587 is a motion control shoe so it is excellent for people with very low arches. It is designed to provide lots of support for severe overpronation (inward rolling of the foot). Without seeing your foot in person, it is difficult to make a recommendation, but it sounds like the New Balance 587 might be a good choice for you. If you are looking for something with a bit less support, you might also want to check out the New Balance 990 (http://www.holabirdsports.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=740&q=new+balance+990).
