Low and lean, Mizuno Wave Hitogami running shoes deliver an efficient and stable ride that delivers the confidence to run fast. Replacing both the Wave Musha and Wave Ronin, these shoes are lightweight and fit securely around your feet. The vivid design is inspired by Kabuki theater face paint that transforms actors into Hitogami, which means Human Gods.

Upper: AIRmesh™ upper enhances airflow and flexibility. Synthetic overlays deliver lightweight support. Lightly padded tongue and heel collar enhance instep comfort. Lace-up front provides an adjustable fit.

Midsole: Mizuno Wave Plate dissipates impact forces away from the foot for a smoother, more cushioned feel on every step. Parallel Wave in the heel disperses shock and provides lightweight cushioning and enhances stability. U4iC midsole provides resiliency and a smooth ride at a fraction of the weight of traditional midsoles. Removable insole.

Outsole: X10® durable carbon rubber outsole allows for longer wear in high impact areas and supplements traction at heel strike. SmoothRide Engineering™ minimizes the rapid acceleration and deceleration of the foot during transition, creating the smoothest ride possible.

Only one downfall...

By Jaymward14

from San Antonio, TX, United States

This is a great lightweight option for midfoot strikers, but the tongue slides down and rubs on my metatarsal head. Tying the shoes tighter doesn't help, and I've taken to wearing pretty thick socks to prevent further blistering. Other than this issue, the shoes are great!

Only one issue

By bbglo

I was mistakenly told that I need a neutral shoe so I ventured out of my comfort zone (Nikes) because of knee pain and went wih these. It's an impressive sneaker, cute with nice color options, very lightweight, and stiff (took some getting used to). I've run a few times in them, each run being about 3.5-5 miles. I started to feel knee pain at 4 miles, but not as painful as usual. They have a decent amount of cushioning for racers. The only thing I do not like about them is that at the 2 mile mark, my toes go numb. I thought they may have been tied too tight, so I loosed them up on my next runs but still, my toes went numb. I also tried inserts to no avail. I will only use these for short runs (less than 4 miles). I've since found out that I over pronate, thus the knee pain. I almost bought the Inpire 10's but have read the quality, fit and feel are bad so I will wait until those issues are fixed. I'm a 5.5 and always get a six in sneakers, with narrow feet. I wear a six in these too.

I purchased this and I absolutely love it! I've never bought anything from Mizuno that wasn't exactly what I was looking for.

Love this shoe

I loved the Ronin and was sad to see it go, but the Hitogami is great. It's quickly been my regularly worn shoe and will be rocking 26.2 with me.

Best on all surfaces

By AshDash

from North Carolina, United States

I have been a serious runner for 7 years. I have worn the Wave Creation and Wave Inspire. Before I had plantar fasciitis I relied on the Creation to get me through trail runs and track workouts, but being a neutral shoe it did not help with the support aspect. That is okay. I found the Inspire and stuck with them for 6 pairs of shoes in the past 2 and a half years. Recently I upped my mileage to about 30 miles per week and I realized I wanted a lighter shoe. I came across the Hitogami and tried it on. I was concerned it would not be as durable due to the price and weight of the shoe. But it proved me wrong! I have worn them on pavement, grass, mud (wet and dry), mulch, rocks and a track and the best part is that I feel like every one of those surfaces feel the same. My shoe doesn't have to adjust to please me. With the other Mizuno shoes I felt a difference when I changed terrain. Really love these shoes!
