Women have a wider pelvis than men causing them to pronate more when their feet land. Additionally, less muscle mass and softer connective tissue in women increases the speed at which the ankle rolls inward. By making their shoes more flexible with more pronounced flex grooves and the outside heel more rounded, Mizuno produced a softer landing, slowing the inward roll of the ankle, producing a more desired result for female runners.
Shoefitr lets you try on shoes online by showing you how they will fit.

Comments about Mizuno Wave Rider 15 Limited Edition Ruby/Crystal Lady:
I am a female runner who has run for 15 yrs. Recently I encountered the plight of a nasty heel spur which pushed me to research holistic and OTC methods to reduce the heel pain, post a training run. After reading the reviews on these shoes, (plus I have a friend who owns a pair)- I decided to buy them and see if it would help with my heel pain.
The shoes, combined with a few other treatment options, really helped to get me "back on the road." It had been over 4 months since I ran consistently and without debilitating pain.
I would recommend these shoes for their comfort, arch & heel support and fit.
One of the reviews I read said to buy a half size larger than what one normally wears; I did and the shoes fit just right. So, I would recommend that when purchasing these, buy a half size larger.
The only "con" ~ I didn't see these offered in solid black, or a cool gray color....I would've bought more than just one pair!

Comments about Mizuno Wave Rider 15 Limited Edition Ruby/Crystal Lady:
I had a pair of purple Wave Rider 15's that were close to being retired. I saw the Limited Edition pair and really loved the color but couldn't justify buying another pair at full price. I was so glad to finally find them here. They are even better looking than pictured! They are a nice dark raspberry color, almost red. I also have a pair of Wave Rider 16's but I actually like the 15's better. My feet are on the narrow side (high arch, neutral pronation) and Mizuno shoes have worked the best for me. They have moderate support and are lightweight. The Wave Rider 15's are my absolute favorite running shoes. I am normally an 8-8.5 in athletic shoes and wear a 9 in these.
