Fall 2012
"A Best Buy pick that tops $100? If you're shopping for new shoes, you know they're getting more expensive. But the Ride 5 is indicative of a trend we're seeing: The shoe is $10 more expensive and is a full two ounces lighter than its predecessor. That weight savings is largely a product of using less foam in the midsole and a reduction in the rubber on the outsole, which also makes this update lower to the ground and more flexible. The changes resonated with testers, who rated it the highest of any shoe in this guide for comfort, cushioning, and ride. So, despite the price hike, it's worth the splurge."

Comments about Saucony Ride 5 Lady Blue/Citron:
I have purchased the Saucony Ride series since 2009. Even the slight changes in the past have been great additions to a dependable running shoe. The changes made in the Ride 5 are so significant it is not the same shoe. The toebox is too narrow now for my foot, and my heel now slips. The sides of the shoe are cut lower, which I am sure is why the shoe is lighter, but this takes away from it's comfort. I am returning these and searching for Ride 4's (which has been my favorite).
