The most stable and well-cushioned shoe in their tennis line, the ASICS GEL-Resolution® 5 represents the latest evolution of the popular series. Improved upper fit and flexibility, along with a more supportive design make the Resolution® 5 a go-to shoe for serious competitors.
Upper: Flexion Fit® proprietary upper provides form-fitting comfort without sacrificing support. P.H.F.™ (Personal Heel Fit) system features two layers of memory foam that line the heel collar and mold the athlete's foot. PGuard® toe protector is designed to enhance the upper's durability and resist abrasion.
Midsole: Rearfoot and forefoot GEL® cushioning systems attenuate shock during impact. Solyte® midsole material is a lighter weight midsole compound than ASICS' standard EVA or SpEVA®. Midfoot Trusstic System reduces the weight of the sole unit while retaining the structural integrity of the shoe. DuoMax® dual density midsole support system is positioned to enhance support and stability. Impact Guidance System (I.G.S®) design philosophy employs linked componentry to enhance the foot's natural gait.
Outsole: AHAR® (ASICS High Abrasion Rubber) is placed in critical areas of the outsole for exceptional durability. Non-marking outsole won't damage court surfaces. All-court traction pattern.

Shoes grip the court allowing me to sprint side to side and run up to the net. The sole does wear out, but the 6 month guarantee is helpful

These shoes are great for me because I have a narrow foot, but I think they might be too narrow for ladies with a regular width, and I know they would be too narrow if a wide width is needed. They require no break in at all, are light but supportive and I LOVE them.

This new Gel-Resolution is my second pair of this line of shoe. Loved the first pair and this one is great so far I play tennis 2-4 times a week. This shoe is. grippy on the tennis court and gives my feet a nice amount of cushion. Cradles my foot well. They feel great right out of the box; no break in time needed. My only complaint is that the tongue tends to slip to the side of the shoe, but maybe that is just me?

Unlike the previous version (which ran about a half size large), the GEL-Resolution 5 runs true to size. If you normally wear a size 9 in ASICS shoes, you should be fine getting a 9 in the GEL-Resolution 5 as well.Answered on 1/4/2013 by Ryan from Holabird Sports
