Staying light on your feet is easy when you wear New Balance 996 tennis shoes. These updated shoes feature PROBANK stability technology that keeps your foot in place during quick cuts on the court. A modern, low-profile design leaves the clunky looks off the court and brings in the style. Ideal for all-court surface players.

Upper: Synthetic overlays offer enhanced support. Breathable mesh provides cool flexibility and ventilation. Lightly padded tongue and heel collar enhance instep comfort. A long-wear drag tip protects the shoe toe box. Lace-up front offers an adjustable fit.

Midsole: REVLITE cushioning technology gives added support. PROBANK technology on the lateral side distributes force more evenly so you can change direction quickly and efficiently. Removable insole.

Outsole: Rubber compound provides maximum durability and traction. Herringbone outsole allows increased traction for lateral motion and quick pivoting. Ndurance® rubber provides superior durability in high wear areas.

1-Year Outsole Guarantee

Comments about New Balance 996 WP Lady:

Very happy that I could find a New Balance WIDE shoe for the tennis court that was not just blue and white. This shoe is wild! I love it! I have played several sets on hard court and have found them perfect. I have also used them for the fitness center because they are good for stability.

Comments about New Balance 996 WP Lady:

Very comfortable out of the box. No break-in required. Bought based on the 1-year outsole warranty, because Nike has limited the warranty to very few shoes now. However, after two tournaments and three weeks of training, the outsole is worn through to the spongy sub-layer. I play a lot, and didn't expect to get a year from them, but 3-weeks!? I am hopeful that this was not usual, and am willing to follow the warranty process and try another pair.

    • About New Balance
New Balance has grown to be one of the largest manufacturers of running shoes and they've done this without expensive advertising campaigns. New Balance knows that there is no better press than positive word-of-mouth. New Balance began as an arch support company, but in 1960, they designed the first running shoe with a ripple sole and the first running shoe that came in varying widths. It didn't take long before New Balance running shoes were used by college track teams all over the country. Today, New Balance makes their shoes available in more widths than almost any other company and that means that there's a New Balance that can fit nearly any foot. Although they started by making running shoes, New Balance tennis shoes are an industry staple and are loved by recreational and serious players. New Balance also makes fine running and tennis apparel, as well as a variety of socks and other sporting accessories.
