Stitch-less P.H.F.® heel collar molds to athletes heel, creating a personalized fit. 3M reflective material enhances visibility during low light hours increasing safety. Innovative lace pocket on the tongue provides storage for laces preventing them from snagging trail debris. Ghilly eyelet lacing construction creates a functional support system that provides enhanced midfoot support. A rubber toe bumper protects the toe box and increases durability. Gusseted tongue provides an improved fit and helps keep trail debris and water out of the shoe.

Midsole: Forefoot and heel GEL cushioning systems are strategically placed to absorb shock. The GEL® cushioning system attenuates shock during the impact and toe off phases, and allows movement in multiple planes so the foot transitions through the gait cycle. DuoMax® Support System helps ensure that the shoe maintains proper support for the foot during the critical transition from heel strike to toe-off by utilizing two different density midsole materials. Solyte® midsole material is lighter than ASICS' standard EVA and SpEVA®, combined with improved cushioning and durability. Solyte®™ 55 super lightweight lasting with medium density for a cushioned, but more stable ride. Trusstic System™, a molded component, reduces the weight of the sole unit while retaining the structural integrity of the shoe. Removable ComforDry™ insole provides the optimum cushioning performance system that creates a cooler, drier, healthier shoe environment.

Outsole: A performance trail outsole with reversed lugs provides uphill and downhill traction on the steepest terrain. Wet Grip® outsole is a specialized blend of compounds designed to enhance traction on slick surfaces. A forefoot rock plate provides protection against stone bruises. AHAR®, ASICS High Abrasion Resistant rubber, is placed in critical areas of the outsole for enhanced durability. DuraSponge® is a blown AHAR® rubber compound that enhances cushioning and durability in the forefoot. Flex grooves provide optimal flexibility.
