Run@Work & Run@School Day is this Friday
This Friday, September 20, is the 8th annual RUN@WORK Day and the 2nd annual RUN@SCHOOL Day. Developed and promoted by the Road Runners Club of America, both events are aimed at encouraging adults (RUN@WORK) and kids (RUN@SCHOOL) to get 30 minutes of exercise each day.

We've all heard that America has a weight problem. But did you know that the CDC and ) National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) estimate that 64% of adults in the United States are either overweight (33%) or obese (31%)? Not only is being overweight or obese bad for your health, it costs a ton of money. The CDC estimates that medical costs associated with being either overweight or obese have reached $75.8 billion per year.

RUN@SCHOOL is important. Kids need to get used to exercising every day. Fourteen percent of high school students do not do any physical activity during the week and only 29 percent are active for 60 minutes or more a day.
