      ASICS GEL-Kayano 26 Men's Black/Black

The new ASICS GEL-Kayano 26 running shoes feature the following new benefits for runners who want a supportive and luxuriously comfortable training shoe:

      • FLYTEFOAM™ Propel technology in the forefoot and directly under the heel provides a springier feel.
      • More aggressive sculpting of the rearfoot foam and GEL™ technology for better sheer deformation and increased impact protection and a smoother transition to toe-off.
      • The GEL™ technology cushioning unit in the heel was inspired from the shoe's storied past for a softer lay down at heel strike.

Runners who like the fit of the Kayano 25 with its taller toe box and more accommodating width will love the carry over into version 26.

      Shoe Composition

Upper: Features a lightweight engineered jacquard mesh that is knit in such a way to provide added support in some areas and added flexibility in others.

Midsole: FluidRide® combines cushioning and lightweight responsiveness. Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.®) employs linked componentry to enhance the foot's natural gait from heel strike to toe-off. GEL® Cushioning Systems attenuate shock during impact and toe-off phases and allow movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle. FlyteFoam® Midsole technology is lightweight and provides long-lasting, responsive cushioning.

Outsole: Guidance Trusstic System® provides a lighter and stable outsole. AHAR® ASICS High Abrasion Rubber placed in critical areas provides exceptional durability.

Great fit, we'll see how they wear

I just switched to these from the Asics Gel Nimbus line, which I'd worn through maybe 10 pairs. I put 12-20 miles on them a week, and I'm a wide-footed supinator -- which is why I originally moved to the Nimbus, as they were recommended for gaits like mine. Recently, though, their rating just became "neutral," and I'd also gone through a few pairs that seemed a little more shoddily built than earlier editions. The apparently more substantial build of the Kayano -- also rated "neutral" -- appealed to me, as the supposedly supination-friendly designs of other manufacturers just looked uncomfortable to me. The Kayanos look and feel fantastic -- like a lighter-weight take on a pair of Nike Air Force basketball shoes that I wore out years ago. That's why they're four-star shoes: That fifth star has to be earned over time.

Light weight, comfortable shoe. I'll buy it again.

      Excellent

I have been wearing gel kayano shoes for a long time. This model is one of the better ones!

Only thing.....they are sized differently from when they were made in China....go up half size.
