Great mid range stringing machine
First I'd like to say the 1 star review does not reflect in any way the performance of the stringing machine itself, only that Holabird messed up when shipping this product to the review writer. It should be taken off this product review page because of that. I have owned one of these for the past 7 years and string my rackets every couple months, but now I'm trying to start a stringing service on the side to make some extra income. Rackets are easy to place in the holders with no major tools needed besides a long hex screwdriver which comes included. All the moving parts are dead silent to this day and I haven't greased anything at all. Drop weight might not be as accurate as the electronic systems but are good enough for me. Floating clamps are easy to use and have adjustable clamp sizes for different gauge string. I have noticed sometimes that when stringing the crosses, the the path of the lever that holds the floating clamps in place will interfere with the other clamp that's already immobilized, but it is simple to get around that. Major downside is the bulkiness of the unit, it's heavy and also uneven in weight distribution so it's not fun to carry around the house. Also, I don't like how far the racket is to the string puller because I've encountered situations before where I'm almost done changing the mains and I run out of string to reach the puller (but had enough string to tie off). Overall, it's a great, relatively affordable stringing unit that I'd recommend…
