HEAD MicroGEL Radical Midplus

The MicroGEL Radical MP offers everything a tour player wants in, now with even more feel thanks to HEAD's MicroGEL technology.

Technology

MicroGEL: MicroGEL is a revolutionary silicone based material with the lowest density of any solid known on the planet. This incredible "Super Material" weighs only about 3mg per cubic centimeter, but is able to support up to 4,000 times it's own weight. HEAD has combined MicroGEL with stiff and strong carbon composite fibers to create a racquet with incredible responsive qualities. On ball impact, HEAD MicroGEL uniformly distributes the impact load around the frame circumference providing a rock solid feel and unique touch that has to be experienced to be believed.

Tennis racquet

I bought a Head Tennis racquet , it arrived on time in good condition but had to replace the very slick grip.

Update to review below.

This is Bobby.. I couple of years ago i wrote the review below..

As i read through my review of the microgel i had to scratch my head a bit at what i wrote. My daughter switched from the Gel to a Pure drive 2 years ago and still uses the babalot. However we had a couple of new Gels collecting dust so i decided to make us of them.

Its been my racket for about a year.

I think her Pure drive will get you easier spin and might help absorb pace a bit better but overall the Gel is is a really solid racket.

She recently practiced with the Gel (her old racket) and she hit great with it.

I give it 4 stars

Nice racket but moved on asI progressed.

A really nice looking racket, high quality and solid playing racket. This review is based on my impressions as well as my daughter's .My daughter received her USTPA teaching credentials at 19 and teaches at the local club while finishing college. The micro-gel has been a great racket but one day as she was practicing her kick serve she borrowed another teaching pros racket at his suggestion and found that it weighed more than the micro-gel but swung faster. It also had a more open string pattern. She hit some of the best kick serves of her life with the borrowed racket.. Even so she kept her micro gel for almost another year.. and decided to re test the same racket again. She played with it for an hour... and a few days later practiced with it again and really liked it.. She's a smaller girl and loved how light it swung. She wanted to get my opinion as I was very used to hitting with her micro-gel. I took a few serves with the new racket and felt the exact same way she did. We switched back and fourth and the micro-gel felt head heavy and harder to swing by comparison. Both rackets weighed 11 oz strung but the new racket felt much different and easier to control. The micro-gel is slightly confusing to me, or at least the marketing of it, Its marketed for advanced players 4.5 and beyond but I don't really know any advanced players using rackets that are 2 points HL. This is just our opinion. Its a solid racket and a great bargain at $89, just not something advanced…

Great racquet

I accidentally ordered one of these racquets last year, thinking it was the oversize version, not the midsize version. I am a 4.0 to 4.5 club player. I almost sent it back but decided to try it out. It took a couple times, but I play much better with it. The smaller head forces me to hit through the ball better instead of relying on the larger head surface to produce power. I just signed on to order another one and decided to write a review.
