The mid-cut style will give you confidence and a secure fit around the ankle while the Rock Stop plate provides further protection against rocks and tree roots. Gore-Tex® water-resistance also allows for taking your next journey into wet conditions.
Upper: Water-resistant Nubuck leather provides protection from the elements. Lace-up front offers an adjustable fit. Padded tongue and collar foam enhance comfort.
Midsole: RollBar® posting system reduces rearfoot movement. C-Cap® compression molded EVA for midsole cushioning and flexibility. Removable insole.
Outsole: Solid rubber outsole provides durability and traction in high wear areas.
I've had two foot surgeries and can't get far without orthotics in both shoes. Buying shoes is usually a challenge, as not all brands and styles will accept orthotic inserts. To date, New Balance has been one of the few products that delivers consistent size and quality.
Great fit-comfortable
These are not as good as the 977 in regards to the upper part of the shoe
They are definitely good shoes but go with a larger size
Holabird is the best. Super efficient, quick shipping and great support
I purchased NB 978v1as a replacement for NB MW956GT which I've worn for years. I did not feel comfortable with the 2 additional eyelets being this is a boot style with the 956GT was not. If there is a comparable model to the discontinued MW956GT I'd appreciate your letting me know.
