adidas Set to Re-Release Iconic Barricade V Tennis Shoes
In 2008, one of the largest tennis rivalry's—Federer vs. Nadal—played out on the courts of Wimbledon. Federer was going for his sixth consecutive Wimbledon win but he couldn't stop Rafael Nadal. A few months later, Roger Federer beat Andy Murray (in his first final US Open appearance) and won the US Open for the fifth year in a row. On the women's side, Serena Williams took home her third US Open title.

And, in 2008, adidas released the Barricade V.

The adidas Barricade's III and IV were known as the "The Ultimate Hard Court Shoe." When the Barricade V was released it was lighter and faster than its predecessor, causing many people to wonder if it could live up to its moniker. adidas redesigned the upper with more mesh for better ventilation, less weight and more flexibility and comfort; however, the support and stability remained first class. In the durability category, adidas continued to shine with an adiWEAR 6 outsole on the Barricade V.

The Barricade V's were worn by Andy Murray in the 2008 Australian Open. Then in 2010, Ana Ivanovic and Jo Wilfried Tsonga wore them in the Australian Open.

In just one month it will be 2014, and adidas will re-release the original adidas Barricade V. Don't miss it! Sign up today to be the first to hear when they're available.
