Nadal is back, well, sort of. It’s been seven months since we last saw him on the courts. He chose the VTR Open in Chile for his comeback tournament. There’s no doubt that he is no longer the pre-knee injury super player he once was. He lost both his singles and doubles matches. However, this is his first tournament back and once he gets in his groove we could see him making the slow climb back to the top four. Nadal lost to Horacio Zeballos, a player he demolished in three sets only three short years ago at the French Open. Nadal is continuing on to the Brazil Open in Sao Paulo, then in Acapulco, Mexico. While his knee is better it’s not 100%. Hopefully, the “King of Clay” is well enough to make the French Open more interesting.
