Saucony has re-tooled the Kinvara 5 to make it the best-fitting and most comfortable Kinvara to date. In the outsole, Saucony has placed more blown rubber in the lateral side to offer runners better positioning as they reach the mid-stance phase of their gait cycle. They have also rounded out the edges and increased the size of the outsole pods to improve comfort and durability.
In addition to providing sleek, new color ways for men and women, Saucony has also tweaked the upper to wrap your foot more securely and to reduce hot spots. Pro Lock technology has been carried over from the brand’s track spikes and racing shoes to offer a snug, performance style of feel. FlexFilm overlays are bonded—not stitched—on to the upper’s mesh to frame the foot comfortably.
Fans of the Kinvara 4 will also enjoy the fit and feel of the Kinvara 5. In fact, many may prefer the Kinvara 5, as the updated outsole renders a more accommodating fit. Regarding weight, the Kinvara 5 is almost identical to its predecessor and weighs in at 7.7 ounces for men (size 9) and 6.7 ounces for women (size 7).
