Roomy, light trail shoe for racing!
This is a surprising trail shoe. It has enough stack height and cushioning to protect my sensitive bottom foot and it has enough volume and width in the toe box to accommodate my wide foot. It also has a lower heel drop than most Asics shoes, which is good for me too because I’m a 3-6 mm heel drop guy. The rubber outsole has good traction (did not try in wet weather yet though) and the upper is comfortable with a bumper up front. And the shoe overall has pretty good support. But here’s the kicker: My men’s size 10 weighs only 8.9 oz! That’s perfect for trail races when you want something a little lighter than your 10–11 ounce trail shoe. I probably wouldn’t race in them in an ultra or a super technical trail course but otherwise, I would race in them up to 10 miles for starters. If you want a light trail shoe but with some meat on the bone, this it it!
