The right compromise in Luxilon's line?
As a regular user of Luxilon poly strings, I consider the 4G rough to be a compromise with some of the "bite and pop" of Luxilon's ALU Power rough and a bit of the "control and tension maintenance" of their regular 4G strings. But to be fair, the ALU Power and 4G strings were pretty orthogonal in the first place. I strung this at 52lbs on the mains and softened it up with natural gut crosses at 54lbs. I like how it doesn't feel as dead as the original 4G. My opponents also balked at my new-found spin causing balls to drop right on the baseline. Unlike the original 4G, the strings do shift a tiny bit on hard shots, but nowhere near as much as the ALU Power Rough. As a hybrid, I like what I see so far. Though time (and pricing on half-reels) will tell if I will switch over to this string.
