These strings are some of the worst strings that I've ever used. At $50 a pop you'd expect these to feel and play great but that's not the case.
I tried these out as an alternative to Babolat VS, and strung a full bed in Head Prestige at 55lbs.
Luxilon says that they put a coating on the strings to improve durability of the gut in a poly hybrid setup.
The result of this is that the string has the same harsh plastic feel of cheap syn gut.
Playing with this string for half an hour flared up my tennis elbow quickly.
The whole point of playing with nat gut is the feel and comfort, so what's the point of losing it all for a little more durability.
If durability is a major concern because gut is expensive, then why use gut? You might be surprised at how long gut will last you anyway,
its reputation of having low durability compared to other string types isn't true. But if cost is an issue there are plenty of other string options that give great performance but don't cost nearly as much.
If these strings were cheaper I wouldn't be giving them nearly as harsh of a review. But for their price they just aren't worth it.
