Best Performing Shoes of the 2014 NYC Marathon

The 2014 NYC Marathon saw the adidas Adizero Adios Boost 2  again and again and again and again. In fact, four of the top ten men's finishers were wearing the Adios Boost 2; including the first place men's winner, Wilson Kipsang (2:10:59) from Kenya, along with the third place, sixth place and eighth place finishers.


The second place finisher with a time of 2:11:06, Lelisa Desisa Benti, wore the Nike Zoom Streak 3 as did the fifth place finisher. In fourth place was Meb Keflezighi, wearing his own Skechers GOmeb Speed 3 NYC Edition.


Masato Imai from Japan finished in seventh place, wearing the adidas Adizero Takumi Sen 2 running shoes. Ryan Vail (U.S.) wore the Brooks Unisex T7 Racer for his ninth place ending, and in tenth place was another American, Nick Arciniaga, wearing the Under Armour SpeedForm Apollo shoes.


On the women's side, winner Mary Keitany from Kenya also wore the adidas Adizero Adios Boost 2. Tennis star Caroline Wozniacki ran the NYC Marathon for the first time, finishing with a time of 3:26:33 -- fast enough to qualify for Boston. Wozniacki wore the adidas Supernova Glide 6 Boost. Overall, adidas had a phenomal showing at this year's New York City Marathon.
