Professional tennis players have long enjoyed the benefits of having their racquets painstakingly customized to meet their specific needs. While amateur players can send their racquets to professional technicians for customization, such work can come with a hefty price tag. And without in-depth knowledge, do-it-yourself customization is limited to basics, like experimenting with lead tape placement, string set ups, and perhaps the occasional grip build-up.
Sensing an industry-wide need for a simpler way to personalize and customize racquets, Dunlop has announced the release of an entirely new line of racquet frames. The Dunlop iDapt racquet series is designed from the ground up to be easily customizable so that players can create a unique racquet that's perfect for their individual needs. The line currently features four frames: an iDapt 98, an iDapt 100, an iDapt 100S, and an iDapt 105. Each of the four frames is available in three different, eye-catching cosmetics.
But a four frames with a few different paint jobs each doesn't exactly make them customizable, right? That's where the Dunlop iDapt line truly separates itself from the pack. Each racquet is actually sold in three different pieces: the frame itself, which is comprised of the hoop and the throat; a Shock Sleeve (your choice of Firm, Medium or Soft) that fits on the bottom of the frame's throat; and a handle (one for a standard 27" racquet, or one for an extended 27.5" racquet), available in any grip size between 4" and 4 5/8".
Once you've selected the frame and color you want, along with the Shock Sleeve, length, and grip size you desire, assembling your Dunlop iDapt racquet is easy. The Holabird Sports team will quickly assemble your customized racquet, locking the Shock Sleeve and handle firmly in place with a proprietary tool that's only available to authorized Dunlop retailers. And if you decide later on that you want to make a change, it's no problem! iDapt handles and Shock Sleeves are easy to swap out and will be sold a la carte so you can easily experiment to find the perfect set up!
All-in-all, there are over 400 combinations to experiment with, and that's not even considering lead tape or custom stringing! While that may seem like a lot of options to consider, our friendly and knowledgeable staff is here to guide you and offer expert advice every step of the way, so that you can get a unique racquet that's perfect suited to your individual needs.
