The Wave Rider has been Mizuno's "bread and butter" neutral cushioned shoe since its debut back in 1998, making it the first shoe using the Mizuno Wave system.

And after receiving amazing feedback from the Wave Rider 20, Mizuno produced an ever greater shoe: The Wave Rider 21.

What's the same?

They kept the same profile that the Wave Rider is known and loved for, as well as the same cloud wave technology and U4icX foam in the heel, which work together to offer you a softer, smoother and enhanced responsive feel. It comes in at 9.6 oz for men and 8.3 oz for women.

What'd we change?

Mizuno introduces a new premium sock liner that is softer and more anatomically correct for the foot. This helps to improve the overall fit and feel of the shoe. And for the upper, they've added some padding around the shoe collar to create a more comfortable feeling while also helping cradle the heel.

The added Dual Zone engineered mesh increases breathability, movement and hold necessary for running.

Whether you've been wearing this shoe for years or you're wanting to try it out for the first time, you'll love the way it feels on your feet and what it does for your running.
