New Balance 806 in Men's for this Female
I need an extra wide shoe for painful bunions. I was glad to try these and find they accommodate my special needs. I wish NB offered these in a Men's 6.5 size, but they start at size 7 which is too long for me. Nevertheless, it's more important that the width fit my foot: the toe box is high and wide. The shoe is quite heavy. It offers good lateral support and grip and has decent cushioning. It appears to be made of leather, so durability ought to be good. I'd characterize the arch as moderately supportive. If I were to make this shoe, I'd make it a half size shorter to capture more women's and men's comfort needs, lighter, and in more colors. I plan to use an orthotic to keep my feet in place for playing pickleball. I think shoe companies are missing a large market by not making shoes that are wide enough to accommodate feet with bunions and/or feet that swell with the quick movements of pickleball and other court sports.
