Shoe Technology

Upper: Classic mesh upper with premium pigskin and synthetic overlays create a timeless look and feel. Reflective accents catch the light for visibility in dark conditions. TPU back tab adds heel security.

Midsole: FuelCell foam delivers a responsive feel to drive you forward. ENCAP midsole combines lightweight foam with a durable polyurethane rim to deliver all-day support.

NB 990's have been my favorite shoe for years but the durability of the V6 has lessened.
I have been wearing New Balance 990's for the past 10-12 years. They have always been my favorite shoe. But the durability of the V6 has not met my expectations.
The problem I have is that the heel part of the sole wears out prematurely. This problem only happens with the "right-foot" shoe. The "left-foot" shoe seems to wear normally. I have gone through 2 pairs of the V6 in the past year and they both have had this problem. For this reason, I have rated the Durability as a "4" instead of a "5".
I am starting to wear my 3rd pair of V6's today. I'm hoping these will perform better than the last 2 pairs but that may be wishful thinking.
I should add that I believe this is a manufacturing problem at New Balance and it has nothing to do with Holabird Sports. Holabird continues to be my preferred seller and I have every reason to continue purchasing from you.
