Great Soles and Uppers, Small Toebox, Silly Laces
I'd really like to love this shoe. But, I can't because the toebox is too low. It's started to cause 'black toenail' on one foot. As a result, I will not be ordering another pair.
The sole is outstanding. It's hard which is extremely helpful with the rocks, roots, and nuts/acorns on my trail runs. The cleats are great. They hold the ground well, even on muddy and sloped paths. The upper material is very strong and water resistant.
The 'speed lace' feature doesn't hold securely. It looks like an attempt to save a few cents on real laces. Because of the cut on the shoe top, secure lacing doesn't apply uniform pressure along the shoe tongue. However, a good fix was to modify speed lace and put it on the bottom lace loops, then use a standard lace for the remaining upper loops. This gave secure closure at the top of the tongue while avoiding compressing an already too tight space at the toe.
If they increase the height of the toebox and fix the lacing, this shoe will be a 5 star buy.
