ASICS Gel-Nimbus 17 Review
Immediately when putting on the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 17 I felt the incredible responsiveness of this model. The Nimbus is known for its cloud-like feel, but I would say that this shoe surpasses previous models in its level of cushioning. I also noticed a lighter and less constricted feel from the upper of the shoe. ASICS did away with materials on this portion of the shoe, making a more seamless experience. This is what I look for in a shoe: I want a shoe that is both light and responsive. Often shoes that are lightweight wind up feeling flat. Luckily, that is not the case with the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 17.

When I first put on the Nimbus 17 I walked around in them for a few hours to break them; however, there isn't much of a need for this. The shoe is incredibly plush, wrapping around your foot with a pillow-like feel. For some, this may seem like too much, especially for a neutral running shoe. However, I find that the responsiveness of the ASICS Nimbus 17 really keeps you wanting more from it. If the shoe was heavier it may have been too cumbersome for me, but this version is the lightest yet.

The simple colorways are a nice change-up for the model, with the Grey and Purple, which I have, being one of the more conservative selections. I especially like the removal of extra trim around the toe of this running shoe, in this case, less is really more. As compared with previous models, the seamless upper on the Nimbus 17 gives your toes a chance to splay a bit more while you are running. I also noticed that the 17 seemed to fit a bit bigger than the previous model. The amount of space is nominal, yet still noticeable for me.

Overall, the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 17 is exceedingly comfortable, lightweight, and responsive. I would say that this model is the best of the Nimbus line. I would recommend this shoe for any runner who needs a neutral training shoe and wants to feel and look great as they hit the road or track.
