It may be cold here in the U.S. but the sun is shining in Australia and on many of the top-seeded players. The 2015 Australian Open is off to a great start.

Li Na is Pregnant

The sun isn't the only thing shining at the Australian Open! Last year's Australian Open women's champion, Li Na, was in Melbourne as the guest of honor. She surprised the crowd by announcing that she is expecting her first child with her coach, Dennis Jiang. She looked very happy and, even retired, is still a fan favorite.

Men's Wrap-Up

Second seed Roger Federer won over Yen-Hsun Lu. Third seed Rafael Nadal beat Mikhail Youzhny; Nadal was happy winning his first match at a Grand Slam since last year's Wimbledon. He suffered illnesses and injuries in 2014 but hopefully 2015 will be a better year for him. And, Andy Murray, sixth seed, beat Yuki Bhambri.

Women's Wrap-Up

On the women's side, second seed Maria Sharapova won her match. Simona Halep (third seed) and Eugenie Bouchard (sixth seed) also advanced. However, fifth seed Ana Ivanovic was defeated by Lucie Hradecka, a Czech qualifier. She wasn't the only seeded player ousted early: BBC Sports reported that, "Two-time Grand Slam champion Svetlana Kuznetsova, former Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki, ninth seed Angelique Kerber, 16th seed Lucie Safarova, Swiss teenage sensation Belinda Bencic, Spain'sCarla Suarez-Navarro and Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova also saw their hopes ended."

Will Maria Sharpova fill the void left by Li Na? Or will Serena Williams triumph with her 19th Slam win? Will Nadal show us why he's still one of the greatest players? Or will Djokovic make up for last year's loss to Stan Wawrinka? We're excited to see what happens in the first Grand Slam of 2015!
