Gary's Garmin Tip #3
What a lot of people do not realize is that most of the bands on the Forerunner watches can be replaced. If a band breaks under warranty (1 year), Garmin will send the customer (if they go through customer support or the store if they go through their account) a new replacement band free of charge. Changing these bands out is generally a fairly easy task.

It would be easier to list the Forerunner watches that you cannot change the bands than the ones you can. Here are the watches you cannot change the band on:

  • Forerunner 110

  • Forerunner 210

  • Forerunner 50

  • FR60

  • FR70

All other watches can have the bands replaced. Below are two videos showing how to change the bands on a Garmin Forerunner 10 and a Forerunner 610. Of the current watches, the Forerunner 910xt, 220 and 620 all have screws instead of pins and will come with two tools provided.

If anyone thinks it would be beneficial to see a video on how to change a band on a different watch than attached, please let me know and I can make more.
