Mizuno's Fastest Running Shoes
Ever since Mizuno released their revolutionary U4iC midsole, they have been able to do something very few shoe companies can: Make super lightweight shoes that are super fast, yet still have plush cushioning. This includes everything from the Hayate trail shoe to the Universe 5 racing flat. Here are some of Mizuno's fastest (and most interesting looking) shoes:

Mizuno Wave Ekiden 9

The unisex Ekiden is elegant, with a G3 outsole for maximum ground contact for better grip and durability, perfect for longer distances. These shoes feel secure, which is what you want for faster corners, in short, the Ekiden 9 offers a race-day fit.

Mizuno Wave Universe 5

This is a performance shoe, with the fantastic U4iC midsole for that lightweight yet responsive ride Mizuno fans love. Overall, the Universe 5 is super light and super fast.

Mizuno Wave Hitogami 2

A neutral shoe that is fast, light, flexible and responsive. If you want an every day training shoe that feels like a racing shoe, and is great for longer distances, the Hitogami 2, with a Parallel Wave heel and an U4ic midsole is perfect.

Mizuno Wave Sayonara 2

The original Sayonara was a favorite with many runners and the Sayonara 2 didn't change the things everyone loved. It's lightweight cushioning is great for marathons, with enough support for heavier (albeit neutral) runners. The Sayonara 2 could work as an every day road shoe, an up-tempo trainer or a long-distance racer.

Mizuno Wave Hayate

Think of the Hayate as a racing trail shoe: light enough to go fast, stable enough for aggressive trails. Finally, you don't have to sacrifice protection or durabilty to have a lightweight trail racing shoe.
