Dogs Love Tennis Balls
What better job for a dog than retrieving tennis balls at tennis matches? It seems like a match made in heaven. Apparently, the people behind the ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand agree. During a recent practice match between Venus Williams and Svetlana Kuznetsova, they used dogs as the ball boys retrievers.
The three dogs were Oscar, a Bull Mastiff; Ted, a Border Collie; and Super Teddy, a Jack Russell/Norfolk Terrier/Miniature Schnauzer mix.
They all performed admirably. Waiting until it was time to retrieve and then quickly getting their respective tennis balls. Surprisingly, Oscar's slobber didn't seem to cause a significant problem. However, Ted decided he really wanted a souvenir, in the form of Svetlana's towel.
