The 2014 version of the On Cloudracer comes complete with an updated midsole, an improved upper, and a fresh new color scheme.
The upper has new overlays throughout, which mimic KT Tape to offer fully supportive fit that's also incredibly light. On has maintained the same translucent design that breathes exceptionally well--one of the many reasons it is a popular option for long-distance races and triathlons. Additionally, the new model is almost a full ounce lighter than the previous model.
In the outsole, "Cloud Technology" offers a great base of cushioning for landing as well as a responsive toe-off. The top and bottom teeth collapse together to soften the blow of impact and then release for top-notch energy return during each stride. The "clouds" absorb shock from both the vertical landing force but also horizontal shearing forces, keeping runners' lower legs less prone to shock.
Mike Robinson, On's Technical Representative, talked with us about the updates to the new On Cloudracer.
