It's only natural that some of us have wider feet. I, myself, am a wide footed gal, finding comfort in size EE in running shoes.
If you're like me, squeezing into a narrow running shoe is painful, and sometimes we can only find narrow sizes of our favorite brands and models, so we do it anyway. But I'm here to tell you that you can stop squeezing and start running in what fits you! Brooks, ASICS, Hoka One One, Saucony and New Balance have what we need, and starting off this wide party is the Saucony Ride 10.
Saucony Ride 10
Whether you're a D, EE or 4E, the Saucony Ride 10 continues the tradition of offering light, yet responsive cushioning with a few additions to further enhance this neutral favorite. This version features a fresh, engineered mesh upper, updated TRI-FLEX outsole, and a comfortable, woven heel collar and these shoes come in WIDE! You'll also receive a $12 Gift Certificate (while supplies last) towards your next Holabird Sports purchase when you buy one of the many colors of this Saucony model.
Brooks Glycerin 15
For women, the evening blue/purple cactus flower/teal is the only wide sized Brooks Glycerin 15 (shown above) and for men, it's the black/brooks electric brooks blue/green gecko. Both are vibrant and newly enhanced, giving neutral runners a truly luxurious ride from optimal cushioning and an improved upper design. This new version features an upper comprised of a 3D Stretch Printed Saddle that offers a supremely personal, adaptive and comfort-driven fit made to last for miles and miles.
ASICS GEL-Nimbus 19
In select colors of the ASICS GEL-Nimbus 19, these supremely cushioned, neutral shoes are constructed in E and 4E sizes. With full FlyteFoam™ midsole technology and a supportive, yet seamless jacquard-mesh upper runners receive incredible, long-lasting responsiveness, a noticeable amount of toe spring and a better fit at the heel with this version. The Nimbus 19 moves with the foot without constricting natural foot patterns, and if your foot is naturally wide, ASICS has your back (well, your feet)!
ASICS GEL-Kayano 24
ASICS GEL-Kayano 24s have been product tested by our very own Cathy Kerns and is available in sizes E and double E. “I’ve always loved the ultra-cushy feel of the Kayano and I felt that it performed so well for me in it’s excellent, shock-absorbing ability. The only complaint that I had about previous models were the narrow and constrictive feels I got around my forefoot from the upper. But the new jacquard mesh material and its construction in the GEL-Kayano 24 provides a more accommodating fit,” Cathy comments.
Hoka One One Arahi
The Hoka One One Arahi comes in size EE and gives buyers a $13 Gift Certificate (while supplies last) for any future Holabird Sports purchase. This impressively lightweight and cushioned design zeroes in on stability and reinvents the age-old stability shoe, making for a more desirable fit and feel from the J-Frame™ technology. Hoka calls this type of guidance 'dynamic stability.' So say goodbye to pain and hello to a wide, guided running experience.
Mizuno Wave Rider 20
The redesigned Mizuno Wave Rider 20 running shoe is focused on providing a softer and more responsive feel for neutral runners. A “Triple Zone” engineered mesh allows for enhanced breathability without sacrificing structure and support around the midfoot. For me, I felt that this shoe wasn't as wide as I needed. It still felt snug. If your width is a bit wider than "medium," then you should have no problem. Find it in women's D and men's EE.
New Balance 1500v3
New Balance characteristically has shoes for wide-footed individuals. These New Balance 1500v3 shoes are no different, coming in sizes D through EE. They're perfect for a day at the track or on race day and can most definitely help you reach your next PR. A super lightweight engineered mesh meets a touch of stability to take runners from the 800m to the marathon with comfort and style. Bold colors and design make a statement before and after the run.
