Women's World Squash Championships Secure Major Partnership

The Women's World Squash Championships has a new partner! The Women's Squash Association (WTA) sealed a long-term agreement with Hallmark Events Group. Hallmark Events will stage the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Women's World Squash Championships as well as guaranteeing a total prize fund in excess of $500,000.

While the 2014 championship venue has yet to be announced, it will occur December 12-19 and be the last WSA World Tour event of the year. Total player compensation will be:

• $150,000 in 2014


• $175,000 in 2015


• $215,000 in 2016

It must be quite a relief for the WSA after such a difficult 2013. Not only did squash lose it's Olympic chance, the WSA had an extremely difficult time finding a host city. The championship was delayed until March 2014 and was held in Penang.
