Hyperice is at the very forefront of the recovery movement.
They’ve been coming up with innovative products by integrating vibration tech with both ice and heat. Hyperice equipment is used to enhance athletic performance, increase flexibility, prevent or heal injuries, and minimize recovery time.
Hyperice is trusted and used by top Olympic athletes as well as athletes in the NBA, NFL, and MLB.
But Hyperice isn’t just used by elite athletes, it’s also used by runners, CrossFitters, and just your average person who’s tired of waking up with back pain and soreness.
Let’s take a look at some of their top products to see how they’re designed to help.
Hyperice Hypervolt 2 Pro
The Hyperice Hypervolt 2 Pro is a high-end handheld massage gun. The Hypervolt 2 Pro generates the most power, and therefore most relief for sore muscles, out of the entire Hyperice lineup.
It’s got a dial on the back that lets you easily control the speed. It’s got five different speeds, and comes with four different head options.
A great feature of the Hypervolt 2 Pro is the app. You can connect the Hypervolt to an app with preset routines for you to follow. For example, there’s a nighttime routine to wind down, and a morning routine to start the day.
And it’s very done-for-you. The narrator instructs how to use the device, which head shape to put on it, which areas to massage, and in what order.
The battery has a 3-hour life, which is more than enough for any massage session.
It’s got a rechargeable battery so all you need to do is plug it in afterward and you’ll be good to go for your next session.
And a huge plus is that the battery is removable. This means you have the option to buy multiple batteries, and one can be charging while you use the other one.
This is a big advantage that a lot of other massage guns don’t have.
And maybe best of all, the Hypervolt 2 Pro is extremely quiet.
You can use the first 3 speed levels pretty much anywhere and you don’t have to worry about causing a scene or disturbing the people around you.
When you get up to levels 4 and 5 it makes 2,400 and 2,700 percussions per minute, which is quite powerful. So it’s not as silent as the lower levels, but it’s still surprisingly quiet.
Hyperice Hypervolt Go
The Hypervolt Go is a smaller (30%), more portable version of the Hypervolt 2. It’s not as strong as the original model, and it has a lower stall force, which just means if you press against yourself too hard, the massage gun will stop easier.
So if you prefer a stronger stall force, meaning you prefer to be able to press it against your muscles with more force before it literally stalls, you’d probably want a stronger model like the Hypervolt 2.
It comes with two different heads, though the heads are interchangeable across devices. So if you also have a Hypervolt 2 or Pro, then you can still use those heads on this smaller device.
And like the other models, it comes with power adapters in case you're traveling to other countries.
It’s got a 2.5-hour battery life, depending on how you use it.
One thing to note: the battery isn’t removable, so the device does need to be plugged in while charging. This also means you can’t swap out multiple batteries.
The Hypervolt go doesn’t have a Bluetooth connection. But the good news is you can still use the app to follow along with their routines.
It’s not as quiet as the normal size Hypervolt. This won’t affect everyone, but if you want to use your massage gun in more public places, this is something to keep in mind.
It’s got a pointier bullet head and then a flatter head. The pointy head is great for targeting really specific areas. And the flatter head is best for broad coverage on larger muscle groups.
Hyperice Hypersphere Mini
The Hypersphere Mini is essentially a vibrating, more portable version of a foam roller. This thing is great at getting kinks out of hard-to-reach places.
It’s especially great for the backside of your body where you can’t really apply pressure with a massage gun. For example, the Hypersphere Mini is great for releasing tense areas in the middle of your back, your shoulder blades, and the back of your neck. And it’s great for getting knots out of your hamstrings.
It’s great for travel because it’s roughly the size of a baseball. This means it can fit in any gym bag or backpack and still leave plenty of space.
The Hypersphere Mini charges via USB, which means you can charge on the go, for example in your car. It’s got a 2-hour battery life before it needs to be charged again, depending on how you use it.
How loud is it?
It’s pretty quiet.
The one scenario where it can make some noise is if you’re using it against a wall, say to push against your back. For this, you’ll want to put a towel between the Mini and the wall. If you don’t, it can be pretty loud, especially if there’s anyone else around.
Also, if you feel like the pressure is too strong in one area, using a towel or cloth between you and the Hypersphere Mini works great too.
Hypersphere Mini VS Hypervolt
The Hypersphere Mini isn’t as powerful as the Hypervolt massage guns. But keep in mind it’s just a different animal.
For one, it’s a much more simple device. There are no detachable parts or accessories to keep up with. It’s even more portable than the Hypervolt because it’s so small. It’s also better at working hard to reach areas, unlike the Hypervolt which is better at working reachable muscles. In fact, the Mini can be a little awkward to use on your front muscles because when you hold it in your palm, a lot of the vibration gets lost in your hand.
And as long as you keep it charged, the Mini can be quite the life-saver for anyone with sore or tight muscles, when stretching won’t get the job done.
The Hyperice Venom Back
For anyone suffering from low back pain, the Hyperice Venom Back is a wrap that uses a combination of heat and targeted vibration to relieve your muscle tension.
It’s got an easy-to-use touch screen, and it’s fully customizable. You can adjust the temperature and the vibration patterns to your needs. And perhaps best of all, you can set timers and let it go to work while you focus on other tasks or just lay back and relax.
It’s got four sections that disperse the vibrations equally across your back. And you can adjust it to hone in on the areas that need the most muscle relaxation.
How to decide between the Venom Back VS Hypervolt VS Hypersphere Mini
One key distinction between the Venom and the Hypervolt is that the Venom is more of a constant vibration that relaxes your muscles over time. The Hypervolt is more of a deep tissue massage, not a vibration feeling.
The Hypersphere mini can actually be used for both. On the one hand, it vibrates similar to the Venom. But if you use it as a foam roller, against the floor or wall, it’s also going to act like a deep tissue massage.
Of course, you can wear the Venom while you’re relaxing or doing other things. This makes it the most passive of the three. And it’s got the heat to go with the vibration, which is great for relaxing your muscles.Back To Top
