Gamma String Tension Calibrator

I bought this to verify that my stringing machine was still calibrated correctly. It is only ok. It generally does what it is supposed to do. As you increase tension the bar pulls out further from the cylinder and there are readings on the bar. Unfortunately there is not enough precision to the calibrator. While the machine can be set to the tenth of a pound, what the calibrator shows appears to be plus or minus about 5 lbs. It did what I needed for now but I will be looking for a better tool.

I use it to calibrate my Tennis stringing machine

I've been playing competitive tennis for over ten years and string my own racket for most of that time. My stringer was starting to lose some pounds and so I bought this calibrator to get things back on track. My stringer now feels much better and accurate. This was a good purchase. It was very easy to use too.

I've been stringing for a number of years and had some questions come up about accurate tension. The local pro asked me if I had checked the calibration. My blank stare was his answer. After a quick web search he declared, "What are you thinking about? Just buy it" Was my drop-weight machine off? Yes, just slightly low. I now have it dialed in exactly.
