Wildly popular shoe brand Skechers is quickly making a name for itself in the running vertical with its line of high-performance running shoes. Starting in 2019, all new and updated models in the Skechers Performance lineup will feature the company’s proprietary HYPER BURST™ foam.
What Is HYPER BURST™?
A “super critical™” foam, HYPER BURST™ is formed by an innovative mechanical foaming process that creates thousands of spherical cells in an incredibly tight format. At first, the material is injected into a solid mold that produces a very small, very compressed miniature version of the midsole. Then, those mini-midsoles expand to form full-sized midsoles that are compression-molded to fit each shoe. This revolutionary process allows for a material that is lighter, springier, and more durable than traditional EVA.
