Running shoes of the New York City Marathon

This weekend thousands of runners will hit the streets of New York City for the TCS New York City Marathon. Months of training have gone into tackling this course in one of the greatest cities in the world. On November 5th, recreational runners will spend a few hours along the same path as some of the elites in the sport. The historic course takes runners through New York City's streets and through the iconic Central Park. The spirit of community will come alive as many runners may be running their very first marathon while others will be working to achieve new personal bests.



Helping to build excitement for this race, some of the top running brands designed shoes to celebrate the event. ASICS developed a special NYC Marathon edition of their popular, well-cushioned neutral shoe, the ASICS GEL-Nimbus® 18.



Saucony designed their own version to showcase one of the more famous aspects of New York with graphics reminiscent of Wall Street and it's famous stock market. The Saucony Triumph ISO 3 NYC Marathon edition features special stock market themed graphics as well as one red outsole and one green for each pair.



Altra created a unique, special edition version of their maximum cushioned and zero-drop favorite with the Torin NYC. With graffiti style artwork and an image of the Statue of Liberty and the New York City skyline, this shoe certainly captures the rich culture of the Big Apple.
The significance of marathon racing and running in the U.S. has become more apparent over the years with a boost in running shoe, apparel, and gear sales all over the country. Great events like the New York City marathon and others like it bring people together to celebrate the hard work put in and a desire to achieve more than we did before.
