By now most people know that the key to losing weight is diet and exercise. However, most people also know that's easier said than done. Luckily, there are some great ways to burn loads of calories while having fun.

Running: approximately 680 calories burned per hour

When I first started running the pounds seemed to just melt off. I was hungrier and eating more, but as long as I kept it healthy, I was losing weight—easily. Running is a fantastic exercise. You can run virtually anywhere with just a good pair of running shoes. Beyond the calorie burning, running keeps your heart and circulatory system healthy, works on your core and gives you fantastic legs. Plus, there are the endorphin-producing benefits—that fabulous runner’s high.

If you want to burn even more calories while running, try stair running. You can burn a whopping 885 calories per hour running stairs. More intense than running on a flat surface, stair running is high-impact. This might sound scary but high-impact exercises can help you build strong bones… not to mention the benefits to your legs and butt.
